My Unemployed Morning Routine

I totally wish this was my desk but I'm not this organized.

Good morning! While most people wake up and start getting ready for work, I'm living the funemployed life for a bit. If you need a recap of wtf happened, you can read here. Last week I interviewed for the internship and I'm sad to say that I didn't get it. I'm a total noob in the design world so I'm not too surprised. Instead of sitting in a dark corner, I decided to enjoy this limited of time where school is my only obligation. Want to know what an unemployed person does every morning? WHATEVER THEY WANT.

8 am -
By this time the sun is peaking through the blinds and BB is usually already off to work. Once he leaves I do my usual look through of emails and social media before walking the pups. We do a quick lap around the block and come back in for breakfast.

9 am -
Straighten up the room and make the bed. If I don't make the bed I'll be tempted to lay in it all day. When I know that I can't be lazy it motivates me to do something productive. After everything is straightened up I'll sit by the window and read for awhile. At the moment I'm reading In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware.

10 - 12 pm
This is when I make a to-do list of everything that needs to get done that day. There are some things that need to be done every day which is doing my daily design for #30daysofdesign, update my website and draw. Then I sprinkle in any other tasks like washing clothes, taking the dogs out again and job hunting.

12 pm
By noon I should have most things ticked off my to-do list so I hop in the shower. If there's anything else that should be done I take care of it later in the day. I try to schedule my day where the most important things are done early.

I've only been unemployed for one week but I haven't been this happy in a looong time. I can finally do the things I want to do without being exhausted all day. While I do my important things I make sure to take breaks to watch YouTube videos, Jersey Shore or fight some demons in Diablo. It's all about balance, right?

I know that this won't last forever so the hunt for a job begins! I just need a job with flexible hours and will pay me higher than minimum wage. Just because I'm not working doesn't mean my bills aren't!

If you had a month off of work to do anything, what would you do?
